Lumière Place drives St. Louis market forward

The St. Louis casino market grew during 2017, thanks to a great performance by the Lumière Place venue.

US.- The casino market in St. Louis – a billion-dollar industry – grew during 2017, but only thanks to the Lumière Place. The venue owned by Tropicana Entertainment reported a nearly double-digit growth and drove the entire industry forward with it.

Lumière Place was the only venue to record a strong performance last year and showed a 15 per cent increase during December (compared to December 2016) to US$13.1 million. When taking into account the last twelve months, the casino saw a revenue increase of 9.6 per cent to US$148.5 million.

Other casinos didn’t have such good performances, as the Argosy Alton reported a 7.2 per cent raise in December to US$3.8 million yet was down 2.3 per cent in the last 12 months to US$48 million. The Casino Queen had an even worse 2016 as it fell 6.5 per cent to US$8.3 million and 6.5 per cent to US$102.1 million respectively.
