Louisville prepares new casino

Churchill Downs Inc. revealed its plans to install a luxury casino and entertainment venue in Louisville.

US.- Churchill Downs Inc. revealed this week that the plans to install a casino in Louisville have already taken effect. The company, the city government and horse racing officials have begun their job in the area, meaning that construction process to build the US$60 million state-of-the-art gambling facility at 4520 Poplar Level Road in Kentucky has already started.

“Bringing historical racing to Louisville is critical to keeping the Kentucky racing circuit competitive through larger purses and greater incentives for owners, breeders and trainers,” Churchill Downs Racetrack president Kevin Flanery said in a statement. “The games will be fueled by historical races and played on machines that they will find very familiar,” Flanery addedd.

According to the official statement, the Churchill Downs gaming venue will employ 200 new full- and part-time employees and create 250 construction jobs. It will also two feature quick-service restaurants, a 50-seat bar, large televisions and 600 historic racing machines.

“We know we have to take a leap of faith, but we’ve done our homework. We think this is something people will really enjoy,” Flanery commented. “We’ve invested in this community. We’ve got $120 million worth of construction going on” in Louisville.
