Louisiana voters to decide on DFS

Fantasy sports games could be legal in Louisiana if voters approve the November ballot.

US.- Governor of Louisiana John Bel Edwards announced on Friday that he has signed a measure by Republican Rep. Kirk Talbot that means voters will decide whether fantasy sports (DFS) games through online sites will be legalised in the state.

The decision to legalise sites such as DraftKings and FanDuel, the biggest DFS operators in the country, will be up to voters in the November ballot decision. The November 6th decision will determine if people will be able to play the cash-league games on their smartphones or computers while in that community.

If voters approve the measure, lawmakers would be forced to decide how to regulate and tax the gambling modality. The state’s gambling board would also need to review those regulations and see if they’re the best in place for local players.
