London favours casino expansion
An online survey showed that most Londoners favour the possibility of moving forward with an expanded casino in the city.
Canada.- The London City Council is expected to vote on a potential casino expansion next week and, apparently, has the support of most Londoners. According to a recent online survey, the population is willing to accept an expanded gaming experience in the Canadian city that would bring further options to a local casino.
The survey showed that, out of the 700 people who participated, 69 per cent are either strong supporters of the expansion or are somewhat in its favour. The poll was the latest in a series of consultations conducted by City staff since January, including a public input session in March.
Despite criticism by local operators like Gateway Casinos on the slow-paced expansion plans, Councilor Josh Morgan assured that provincial guidelines were strictly followed during the process, including the public input portion.
A committee will hold a meeting on Monday to further debate the expansion that would add table games like poker, blackjack and roulette to the existing slots. It’s expected a decision on expansion will be made and final approval will follow at the Tuesday council meeting.
