Live! Maryland becomes Covid-19 vaccination site
The Maryland property has offered its convention space to the Anne Arundel County Department of Health.
US.- Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland is now serving as a Covid-19 vaccination site under the state’s Phase 1B Covid-19 vaccination rollout.
The property offered its 75,000-square-foot convention space to the Anne Arundel County Department of Health to help vaccines arrive to eligible residents.
The vaccination clinic will be in operation from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm. It is believed it will have the capacity to dispense 100 shots per hour.
According to the Cordish Companies, which owns and operates the casino, the vaccination facilities will be running “for several months”.
Casinos in Maryland have been suffering the consequences of the pandemic, with tighter sanitary restrictions recently imposed due to an increase in Covid-19 cases.
The Cordish property isn’t the first to become involved in efforts to eradicate the novel coronavirus. Last week, Encore at Wynn Las Vegas announced it would transform part of its convention space into a state-operated vaccination centre.
Like many gaming companies across the US, Wynn has faced major losses as a consequence of the pandemic, reporting a 77.5 per cent drop in revenue year-on-year for the third quarter of 2020.
