Landing International claims Metro Manila land
The casino investor assured it has a “legally-binding contract” for land in the Philippines for a casino-resort project.
Philippines.- Casino investor Landing International Development Ltd confirmed that it has a “legally binding contract” with an organisation called Nayong Pilipino Foundation to lease land in the Metro Manila Area. There had been reports that the Philippines Commission on Audit had ordered the organisation to shelve the agreement with Landing International, pending approval from Pagcor and the National Economic Development Authority.
“Our agreement to lease a parcel of land of approximately 9.5 hectares [23.5 acres] in size located in Parañaque City, Philippines, from Nayong Pilipino Foundation is a legally binding contract,” Landing International told GGRAsia and added: “We are not informed that the land lease contract is cancelled, and we are not aware of any reason or ground for cancellation of the lease contract.”
According to a report posted on the Politiko online news outlet – and signed by the niece of the Philippine President, Maria Fema Duterta – Landing International would be underpaying for its lease in comparison to the market value of nearby land where the Solaire Resort and Casino is located.
