Press release.- Konami Gaming and its BOMBERMAN-inspired slot series have been awarded North America Game of the Year in the Gaming Intelligence Awards 2026 land-based category. BOMBERMAN is recognised as the industry’s premier land-based casino game available, demonstrating mathematical precision, flawless execution, and proven player appeal.

Inspired by the iconic video game series beloved by fans for over 40 years, the world’s first BOMBERMAN slots debuted less than 12 months ago. Today, thousands of BOMBERMAN slots are spinning in casinos across North America, South America, and Europe.

John Eary, vice president of marketing at Konami Gaming, said: “Recognition of BOMBERMAN slots as Game of the Year is credit to the partnership of our casino customers, ingenuity of our teams, and strength of KONAMI’s long legacy in entertainment. It is exciting to see this popular KONAMI video game series become a player-favourite in casinos as well.”

Third-party performance reports have demonstrated the popularity of BOMBERMAN slots in a long list of categories, including Top Indexing Games – Core (Low Denom, Video Reel), Top Indexing Games – Core (Mid Denom, Video Reel), Top Indexing Games – Overall Parent Theme, and more. The games feature recognisable characters and imagery from the video games, like brick walls, power-up symbols, and BOMBERMAN himself. Throughout the Hold & Spin event, players can burst open brick walls to boost their feature game experience with bonus awards, random credit prizes, and more.

“BOMBERMAN slots are one of many new KONAMI releases proven to resonate with players. Our teams are working closely and collaboratively with casino partners to help expand proven successful titles like Bull Blitz Rampage, Red Fortune Rail and Money in the Bank to more gaming destinations every day,” said Eary.
