Kentucky Downs announces ground-breaking ceremony

Kentucky Downs will host a ground-breaking ceremony on November 14 to kick off a US$25 million expansion.

US.- Kentucky Downs has announced that its US$25 million expansion and renovation will start on November 14 with a ground-breaking ceremony. This will be the first of three phases and will add 18,000 square feet to the facility’s offering.

The ceremony will feature construction project head R.T. Browning; Allan Creel, a member of the ownership group and digital-printing pioneer Creel Printing; and Kentucky Downs senior vice president and general manager Ted Nicholson.

The first of three phases has an estimated cost of US$25 million and will add 18,000 square feet in a new building with more gaming, food, beverage and entertainment options. The completion date has been set before the 2020 live race meets on September 2.

Moreover, Kentucky Downs said that the existing vaulting will go through a renovation during the expansion. This includes transforming part of the current gaming floor into restaurants and other food outlets.
