Italy sports betting revenue reached €187.3m (US$217.2m) in September

The figures released show an increase in sports betting of €115.0m (US$133.7m) from the previous month. Overall online gross gaming revenue was up to €276.8m (US$320.9m).

Italy.- Sports betting revenue showed a rise in Italy in September while overall online gross gaming revenue (GGR) continued its growth. According to the Customs and Monopolies Agency, overall online GGR was up to €276.8m

In August 2021 GGR was €231.8m. And when comparing last month figures with the same period last year, the increase is 33.5 per cent from the €184m reached September 2020.  

Of this total, €139.7m —50.47 per cent— was attributed to casino and slot game revenue. Meanwhile, sports betting increased its revenue share to 43.14 per cent, up from 35.12 per cent the previous month. 

Sports betting revenue reached €187.3m in September, up from August’s €115.0m. €119.4m came from online and mobile sources, while land-based sports betting generated €67.9m.

According to the data collated and processed by Ficom Leisure, Snaitech was the operator with the largest share of sports betting revenue, contributing 15.6 per cent of the revenue total. Goldbet was second with 14.5 per cent, followed by Sisal with 12.4 per cent.
