Indiana revenue remained flat in 2017

Southeastern Indiana’s three riverboat casinos experienced virtually no changes in revenue during 2017.

US.- Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg, Belterra Casino in Switzerland County, and Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun combined for US$321.98 million dollars in revenue during 2017. Southeastern Indiana’s three riverboat casinos barely rose 0.3 per cent from the previous year as their revenue stayed pretty much the same as it was in 2016.

Despite recording barely no changes in revenue, results were positive as they managed to avoid falling while visitors dropped 5.5 per cent to 3.22 million.

Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg posted the highest revenue as it reached US$166.9 million, merely decreasing 0.6 percent year-on-year. Belterra came in second with US$109.4 million but rose 0.8 percent from 2016, while Rising Star Casino reported about US$45.6 million.

Gaming tax revenues are expected to decline in 2018 as the state’s first tribal casino in South Bend, The Four Winds Casino, starts operating. The venue is run by the Pokagon band of Potawatomi Native Americans and tribal casinos are not required to pay state taxes.
