Imperial Pacific is 69 pct complete
The company behind the facility said that it is in the advanced stage of physical completion.
US.- Saipan’s upcoming casino has experienced important delays in the last few months, and while it is only a few weeks away from its deadline, Imperial Pacific officials said that the project is currently 69 per cent complete.
Eric Poon, IPI vice president for construction, told the Commonwealth Casino Commission on Tuesday that the number was based on the overall construction of the hotel part of the initial gaming facility: “The work that we have done so far — the foundation and basic infrastructure, along with the calculations and schedule of our project — we don’t have a special tool to calculate, unless I actually talk to my team.”
The Saipan Tribune reported that Poon detailed that the current construction work is separated in three areas, which consist of the resort hotel, the north courtyard and the hotel tower. “Everything is moving forward and on target to complete by the end of this year. We put in another 10 per cent in the resort hotel’s building façade. But for us, this is not fast enough; hopefully, we can improve it in the near future,” added Poon.
