Illegal casinos busted in Texas
Texas police raided two Chinese illegal casinos near the state’s border.
US.- After conducting a raid on two illicit casinos run by a group of young Chinese men, Texan authorities confiscated more than US$425,000 in cash and gambling machines.
In November 2015, Breitbart Texas received information provided by the Hidalgo County District Attorney about underground casinos or “eight liners” in the area around the border city of La Joya. Then, officers set up surveillance and undercover operations to gather evidence of criminal activity tied to the illegal gambling establishments. On Thursday, the police raided two underground casinos located right off the U.S. Expressway 83 and two flats in the border city of Mission Texas.
In both raids Lin Fen Yuan, Guang Yao, Chen Bin, Zhixiong Liu and Wei Feng Zhuo were arrested and formally charged with three separate counts tied to gambling and one count of engaging in organised criminal activity.
Just a few days before, the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office raided three underground casinos in the border city of Brownsville disabling dozens of gambling machines in the process.
