Illegal Cape Town gambling joint raided

A 56-year-old man was alone on the premises at the time of the raid and he was arrested.

South Africa.- According to Western Cape police, a man from Cape Town  was arrested after officers discovered a warehouse with 27 illegal slot machines.

The man would face multiple charges in connection with the possession and manufacturing of gambling machines when he appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board inspectors had identified a joint, which operated unlicensed gambling machines in the Transwerk Industrial Park in Salt River. Then, together with local police officers, the inspectors executed a search warrant and confiscated the machines.
