ICE London 2021 put back to April
Clarion Gaming has announced it is postponing the next edition of the largest show in the industry by two months to April 20 to 22, 2021.
UK.- Clarion Gaming has announced it is postponing the 2021 edition of ICE London by 11 weeks due to continued Covid-19 concerns.
The world’s largest gaming industry trade show and expo was scheduled for February 2 to 4. It will be rescheduled for April 20 to 22 at the same venue.
The exhibition centre, ExCeL in London’s Docklands, is still currently being used as an emergency NHS Nightingale hospital.
Event organiser Clarion Gaming said it was moving the annual event from its usual place on the calendar in February due to concerns international travel restrictions may continue early into the new year.
Clarion Gaming’s Managing Director, Kate Chambers, said: “In our ongoing discussions with the market it has become clear that the disruption and impact of the pandemic was causing some doubt and nervousness about our traditional February dates.
“As the Clarion Gaming brands exist to satisfy the needs of the market – exhibitors, delegates and speakers – we have moved the 2021 dates to April 20 to 22 once again at the ExCeL London Exhibition Centre.
“While the world is likely to be in a much better place in April 2021, I’m certain that we will experience more bumps in the road.
“However, I’m confident that with the on-going support of the ICE London and iGB Affiliate communities as well as the dedication of the Clarion Gaming team, we can navigate those challenges and deliver events that all sectors of the international industry want and need.”
ICE London 2020, which was held over February 4 to 6 , was one of the last major gaming expos to take place before the Covid-19 pandemic led to lockdowns being introduced around the world.
