Horseshoe Casino rebranding transition was slightly delayed

Horseshoe Casino Cleveland closed a little later than expected for its transition to JACK Cleveland Casino.

US.-  Horseshoe Casino Cleveland delayed a bit its transition to rebrand as JACK Cleveland Casino. The closure was scheduled at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 9.

The reason why the closure was postponed was because one lucky player was on a roll and still had Horseshoe bonus credits to play. According to Mark Tricano, Rock Gaming LLC’s senior vice president of operations for Northeast Ohio, the client was allowed to play another 20 minutes or so to use up her credits.

Then, Rock Gaming’s contract with Caesars Entertainment Corp. expired, explained Tricano and Rock Gaming was ready to run its casino in Cleveland on its own. For 40 hours, the casino will be closed for rebranding, upgrading and the kind of deep cleaning a 24/7 operation rarely has time for.

Tricano also said that until the casino reopens at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, more than 150 workers from contractors and vendors have set about to rebrand, reprogram or update 1,700 slot machines, 95 game tables and 30 poker tables and to erase all signs of the Horseshoe brand.

The process is part of a US$40 million transformation of all four gambling properties owned by the Dan Gilbert-led Rock Gaming LLC, to be renamed JACK Gaming LLC. In addition to the downtown Cleveland casino, the gambling company owns and now will operate on its own JACK ThistleDown Racino, the JACK Greektown Casino in Detroit and the JACK Cincinnati Casino.
