Horseshoe Casino Baltimore continues to grow
The casino’s revenue grew 3.3 per cent year-on-year last June and continued the upward trend seen in May.
US.- After a record-breaking May 2018 for Maryland’s casinos, June’s results continued to please casino operators, specially at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore. The casino got US$22.8 million in revenue from slots and tables in June, a 3.3 per cent increase year-on-year, making it the second month straight after growing 2 per cent in May.
“We’re seeing the stabilization of the market share changes that occurred after MGM’s opening a year and a half ago,” Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director Gordon Medenica said to news outlet baltimorefishbowl.com and added: “The six casinos are now finding their niche in the marketplace as they continue to grow and maintain their customer base.”
In June, casinos posted revenue of US$130.5 million and, even as they failed to emulate May’s results, it was 14 per cent higher year-on-year. May 2018 was the best month for casinos in Maryland as they all posted year-over-year gains. The six casinos in the state totalled US$156.6 million in revenue and broke the previous record set in March.
