Hollywood Casino Perryville asks for expansion approval
The Maryland casino asked the state regulators if they can expand its gaming floor.
US.- The Hollywood Casino Perryville asked state regulators in Maryland to approve the expansion of its facility so they can create a gaming area outside the casino floor for smokers. The casino is looking for permission to move 14 slot machines to an existing smoking area.
Even though smoking is prohibited inside casinos, Horseshoe Casino Baltimore and Rocky Gap Casino Resort currently offer their players an outdoor smoking area with slot machines. If the petition gets approved, the casino would have to build a wall and a roof so the slot machines are protected from outside factors. The local regulator, Maryland Lottery and Gaming Agency, received the request earlier this month, and will discuss it today during a regular meeting.
Hollywood Casino Perryville currently operates more than 850 slot machines and 22 table games. It generated US$5.9 million from both slot machines and table games in September. Its 75,000 square feet gaming floor features Blackjack, 3-Card Poker and Roulette, 12 live tables that feature 3 Card Poker, 4 Card Poker, Blackjack, Craps and Roulette, among other things.
