Hollywood Casino Jamul to open on October 10
Penn National Gaming announced the opening date for the new casino that will be located in California.
US.- The Hollywood Casino Jamul, which is located in San Diego, California, will open to the public on October 10. The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) recently gave final approval for the US$390 million facility.
Penn National Gaming Inc developed and will manage the facility on behalf of Jamul Indian Village of California. Timothy J. Wilmott, CEO and President of Penn National, said: “We are grateful to the Jamul Indian Village for giving us the opportunity to build this spectacular regional entertainment destination. We are honored to serve as the manager of their facility and to help them realise their goal of becoming economically self-sufficient.” Penn National will earn a fee of 30 percent of net revenue, as well as 2 percent of gross revenue for the use of the brand.
The casino is located 20 miles east of downtown San Diego and will feature more than 1,700 slot machines, 43 table games and eight dining and entertainment venues. The Indian gaming industry totaled US$29.9 billion nationwide in 2015.
