Holland Casino to open temporary facility

The company is set to open a temporary casino at Sontplein, Groningen by the end of November.

Netherlands.- Holland Casino announced that Sontplein, Groningen, will see the opening of a temporary casino in November, in a move to replace the one that was destroyed by a fire last year. Group CEO Erwin van Lambaart said that dozens of options were considered before the Sontplein position was approved.

The company said that the process to pick a temporary location was very careful and that accessibility, safety and the development plan of the local municipality were key components. While the new facility will be a semi-permanent construction, it is set to feature a complete range of games that reach the high standards of the company.

“I want to thank our regular guests and the Groningers for their understanding and support in the past period and look forward to welcoming them at the end of this year at the Sontplein. This is a special moment because it is 30 years ago that we opened our doors for the first time for our guests in Groningen,” said Lambaart.

“I would like to express my appreciation for the great dedication and flexibility of our employees in Groningen who have worked at various locations during the past period, spread throughout the country, in anticipation of our new location. I am pleased that together with the municipality we have finally solved this complex puzzle and we can get back to work in this beautiful city.”
