Hard Rock to open Rockford casino in October

Hard Rock’s temporary casino in Rockford is scheduled to open in October, the company has revealed.

US.- Hard Rock casino is just two months away from opening its new casino in Rockford City.

The $8m temporary venue approved by the Gaming Board at Giovanni’s will open in October. It will host 600 slot machines, a sports bar and a restaurant.

It will be used while Hard Rock constructs its permanent venue. That’s still waiting for a licence from the Illinois Gaming Control Board, but the licence is expected to be approved.

That project is expected to cost $310m and to create 1,200 permanent jobs and a further 1,000 during construction.
