The Illinois Gaming Board has approved a Casino Supplier Licence, allowing the company to begin the construction of its temporary casino in Rockford.

US.- Hard Rock is to begin building its temporary casino in Rockford. The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) has approved a Casino Supplier Licence for 815 Beltway Holdings LLC, the owner of the locations for both the temporary and permanent Hard Rock’s venue.

The venue allows work on the casinos to begin, although it doesn’t allow gambling.

“The IGB did not grant such approval at today’s Board meeting,” said Gene O’Shea, director of the IGB Self-Exclusion Programme.

There’s still some way to go in terms of regulation, but 815 Beltway Holdings is soon to begin preparations for its 736 slots-venue. The casino will house a snack bar, casino bar, the Legacy Restaurant that’s already on site at the planned location, Giovanni’s Restaurant and a Convention Center.

The temporary venue will be used while work goes ahead on the permanent location. That’s expected to take between 18 and 24 months.
