Hard Rock announces casino expansion in Florida

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa will undergo a large-scale expansion in its guest areas and game centre.

US.- The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa has announced a US$700 million expansion project. The biggest casino in Florida will rescale its guest areas and the game centre, expanding a gaming floor that already has 5,000 slot machines and nearly 200 gaming tables.

The plan foresees the addition of around 200,000 square feet of entertainment and gaming, the casino operator said in a statement. It would be done through a 15-story hotel tower (the centrepiece of the project) that will hold 564 hotel rooms and suites. Once completed, it would offer one of the largest varieties of slot machines in the whole United States. Restaurants, swimming pools and a spa are also expected to be developed.

“Major expansion of the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa is further evidence of the Seminole Tribe’s commitment to the people of Florida that it will continue to increase the economic impact of its Seminole Gaming facilities,” said Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen. The tribe is expected to invest US$2.4 billion in its two flagship casinos, including the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa and its venue in Hollywood (Florida).
