Hard Rock AC replaces president

The casino that opened its doors on June 27 has made changes to its executive team.

US.- Hard Rock International has revealed that it is replacing the president of its Atlantic City casino after just three months of operations. The company said that Matt Harkness will be replaced by Joe Lupo, former Borgata executive.

While no reason was given for the change, the company said that Lupo will take over on November 1 and that Harkness will assume new responsibilities. Harkness was in charge of overseeing the planning, construction and opening of the facility, formerly known as Trump Taj Mahal casino. On the other hand, Lupo joined Hard Rocks a few years ago and was president at the MGM-owned Borgata.

Jon Lucas, Hard Rock International’s chief operating officer, said: “I would like to thank Matt for his contribution to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City and appreciate his efforts leading the successful opening of this exceptional property.”

Jim Allen, Hard Rock’s chairman and CEO, said: “Joe has been a talented and proven leader at our Tampa property and previously at Borgata, creating significant property success in both markets.”
