Goa urged operators to submit machine details

The administration asked casinos to report details of card swiping machines.

India.- Indian politicians are concerned about the agreements between current officials and local casino operators, thats why the current administration asked casino operators to report all of the details in their card swiping machines daily, until February 5, the day after the elections in India.

The order establishes that if operators don’t comply with the measure, they would face serious consequences. “In the run-up to the election, it is apprehended that casinos may be used as a channel for outflow of money to voters for inducement,” said Goa’s government’s Commercial Taxes department. According to Goa’s chief election officer alleged laundering money destined to political parties during the electoral process will be closely investigated by the electoral watchdog. Casino operators behind these investments would face strict penalties.

According to the decree, the 10 onshore and five operational off shore casinos from Goa are hereby directed to submit details of card swiping machines, serial number of the machine, bank account number, bank name and address.
