Global Gaming expands into sports

The operator has partnered with Altenar to launch a sportsbook via its Ninja Casino brand.

Sweden.- Global Gaming has expanded beyond online casino for the first time with the launch of a sportsbook for its Ninja Casino brand.

The iGaming operator, which returned to profit in the last quarter, has partnered with betting technology provider Altenar to launch the new product.

Global Gaming Chief Customer Officer, Slava Korneychik, said: “With a focus on delivering outstanding gaming experiences, we are very excited to further enhance our product offerings by launching betting on our flagship brand Ninja Casino.

“Our partnership with Altenar gives [Global] a very competitive sports betting product to ensure our growth focus.”

Chief Executive Tobias Fagerlund highlighted the move as a key milestone in Global’s efforts to adapt to the loss of its licence in its native Sweden, then its largest market, in June 2019.

The loss of its Swedish licence saw the operator lose 75 per cent of its revenue.

Fagerlund said that after expanding into sports betting, Global now plans to enter new markets in the current quarter.
