Czech Republic.- Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) announced that they will be the first testing agency accredited in the Czech Republic. The country will open a regulated online gambling market on January 1.
The company said that the Ministry of Finance and Gaming Board of Czech Republic granted them the accreditation. Dennis Byram, head of the European Compliance and Quality Assurance, explained that GLI is the first international gaming laboratory to earn it. At the same time, Managing Director for GLI Europe and Africa Martin Britton said that their clients are now able to move forward in the Czech Republic. He believes that their clients will be happy with their service in the new market whilst they will also receive the latest information about the current regulation as well as audit requirements.
Czech Republic’s president Miloš Zeman signed the Czech Act of 26 May 2016 on gambling into law back in June, the bill had received unanimous endorsement by the Senate. The Gambling law establishes conditions for the online gaming licensing process, which enables foreign operators to participate and for the tax payment. New tax rates will be of 23 percent of gross gaming revenue for sports betting and lotteries and 35 percent for RNG casino games, on top of the standard 19 percent corporate tax rate.
