In 2021, global gambling revenues rose by 12% to US$ 399bn, according to GBGC’s research for its Global Gambling Report.

But that figure is still well below the amount recorded in 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Restrictions on travel and hospitality venues were still commonplace around the world in 2021 and continue into 2022.
