Gateway confirms casino location
The casino company has confirmed that Pinewood Park Drive has been chosen as its next casino site.
US.- Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited has announced that it is proposing to build a new casino on Pinewood Park Drive in the south end of North Bay. The 7.3-acre parcel of land is just off Highway 11 adjacent to Nipissing Junction.
The new casino would feature a number of amenities such as slots and table games, though municipal approvals are still pending. The proposed new casino is expected to start its construction this summer. According to Gateway, this would happen once the company obtains the municipal approvals.
Gateway revealed that it will reveal more details on the scope of the project, as well as employment opportunities in the next few weeks.
“We are very pleased to announce that Gateway has acquired land on Pinewood Park Drive and will soon be able to move forward with our plans to build an exciting new casino and entertainment destination in the City of North Bay. We look forward to working with OLG and the City of North Bay to achieve all the necessary approvals to start construction as quickly as possible,” said Keith Andrews, Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Gateway Ontario.
Earlier this month, the company announced that the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has approved the civil works plan for Cascades Casino Delta. The mid-size gaming and entertainment venue is scheduled to open in 2020.
The project will be located on the old Delta Town & Country Inn site. It was the only suitable site, according to the city council, which provided its approval in May 2018, as it is far from residential neighbourhoods and close to major transportation corridors.
