Gaming revenue up in Mississippi

Gaming revenue in the state increased around 10% during last month’s operations.

US.- According to gaming experts, statewide gaming revenue increased around 10% last month in Mississippi. The increase is attributed to sports betting, which was recently legalised by the Supreme Court and regulated in a number of states.

Gaming experts talked to local media and said that statewide gaming revenue has been fairly stagnant over the last 10 years, but ever since sports betting was introduced the numbers are finally showing a positive growth.

“Another exciting thing with the sports betting is we’re seeing gamblers from all over the place, especially from out of state, not only spending more money on sports betting, but they’re staying overnight. They’re spending money in the shops and definitely in the casino and dining amenities, too, which is helping out the casinos even more,” said Michael Sunderman to WXXV25.

Experts also believe that this month’s results will continue to show positive growth, considering that a few casinos are still waiting for the process to receive the green light to offer sports betting to their facilities.
