Gaming industry grows with casino, iGaming and sports betting revenues.
Spains.- As reported by the Spanish gaming regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ), gaming industry in the country keeps growing due to the breaking-record revenue noted by casino, iGaming and sports betting sectors. The Spanish gaming market is one of the most profitable worldwide and in the continent.
The report shows that the industry grew one-third in Q3, and even poker reported year-on-year improvements. “Online gambling operators generated combined revenue of €140.5 million in the three months ending September 30. The sum is 16.6 percent greater than the market reported in Q2 and 37.3 percent more than it earned in Q3 2016,” stated the report.
As sports betting revenue revealed an increase of 37 percent to €77 million, “with in-play betting accounting for nearly 60 percent of wagering revenue and 71.3 percent of betting volume,” online casino revenue in total generated €43.9 million in Q3. However, betting handle actually decreased 6.5 percent noting a revenue of 27.8 percent.
Meanwhile, the total growth of online casino was up 54.2 percent year-on-year and 4.5 percent sequentially. “As ever, slots contributed the bulk (€22.3 million) of casino revenue, representing a year-on-year improvement of 61.7 percent. Slots represented 50.9 percent of all casino revenue but just 39 percent of casino spending,” added the report.
