Gaming in Holland announces 2018’s program

The gaming event that takes place in Amsterdam in June also announced its first Responsible Gaming Awards dinner.

Netherlands.- Gaming in Holland Conference (GiH) announced its seventh annual event’s program, which will include the very first responsible Gaming Awards at an exclusive awards dinner.

The conference is set to take place on June 19-20th at De Hallen Studios in Amsterdam. As always, the GiH Conference is THE place to connect with all the key players in the Dutch gaming industry. Organisers of the gaming event released the 2018 conference program:

Pre-conference

On June 18th Gaming in Holland and Totally Gaming Academy trainers Arjan Korstjens and Lucien Wijsman will offer a one-day, Dutch-language casino marketing training course at a steeply discounted rate.

The course will be primarily aimed at land-based casino professionals looking to mount more effective marketing campaigns and to increase floor yields by specifically catering to as many different categories of casino customers as possible.

Day 1 – starting at 13.30

June 19th: The first conference day will focus on the latest regulatory and legal developments. As a special guest, GiH will welcome Guillermo Olagüe Sánchez, Deputy Head of the Spanish regulator, Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego.

Mr Olagüe Sánchez will look back at Spain’s successful regulation of a healthy and growing online market and will also discuss the concomitant advantages of expanded consumer protection, player channelling, and increased tax yields.

Day 2 – starting at 10.00

The second conference day will feature a keynote opening by Holland Casino CEO Erwin van Lambaart, followed by a discussion of the Dutch lottery market and the impact of new market entrants on charities and good causes.

Other topics include the possible opening of the Dutch retail betting market, the key gambling brands in the country, and a CEO panel.

As the Dutch market is slowly but surely opening up, it is becoming increasingly appropriate to recognize outstanding performers within the Dutch gaming industry.

Gaming in Holland, in close cooperation with – and supported by a wide range of stakeholders – has therefore decided to introduce the Responsible Gaming Awards.

The very first Responsible Gaming Awards will be presented on June 19 at an exclusive awards dinner for industry representatives, policymakers, and problem gambling care professionals.

The awards dinner will be an integral part of the GiH Conference. However, it will also be possible to attend the dinner without participating in the conference. A large number of representatives of the gaming, betting, and lottery sectors have already confirmed their attendance.

The inaugural Dutch Responsible Gaming Awards will feature ten distinct award categories:

  1. Responsible Gaming Initiative of the Year
  2. Best Use of Technology for Responsible Gaming Purposes
  3. Governance, Oversight, and Social Care Organization of the Year
  4. Operator of the Year
  5. Gaming Destination of the Year
  6. Female Role Model of the Year
  7. Marketing Campaign of the Year
  8. Digital Product of the Year
  9. Gaming Industry Ambassador of the Year
  10. Industry Innovation of the Year

The winners will be picked by three independent juries. All nominees must be fully-licensed to operate in the Dutch market.

The Responsible Gaming Awards Dinner promises to be the highlight of the GiH Conference, as well as a long overdue opportunity for the entire Dutch gaming industry to come together to celebrate its achievements.
