GamCare to relocate to City of London
The UK charity is moving to a new location as it reconfigures its programmes.
UK.- GamCare has announced that it’s moving to a new headquarters in City of London. The responsible gambling charity will leave its longstanding offices at Saffron Hill, Holborn, on August 26. It’s new location will be at Salisbury House, Finsbury Circus, close to Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations.
The charity said the move marks a significant step in GamCare’s evolution, giving it a vibrant, collaborative hub that better reflects the way it works and the support it offers. Phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same, and services, including the National Gambling Helpline will not be disrupted during the move.
The move comes as GamCare adjusts its programmes amid changes to the funding for gambling research, education and treatment in the UK. A new mandatory gambling levy on licensed operators was introduced in April. Funds from the levy will be distributed by the NHS. As a result, GambleAware, which previously administered voluntary donations from the industry, has announced that it will cease operations by March 2026.
As for GamCare, the body has previously announced that it will end its Young People’s Programme by October 2025. It’s also announced an external review of its Women’s Pathway Programme, which began last year. The charity expects to meet with NHS England’s Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) and regional governments to discuss funding changes with an image to kee services running smoothly.
