Gambling in Italy struggles amid Coronavirus lockdown

The gambling industry is among commercial victims in Italy as the country enters lockdown to prevent Coronavirus from spreading.

Italy.- After China and South Korea, Italy has had the most confirmed cases of Coronavirus. Authorities have struggled to contain the disease and more than 450 people have already died from it.

The country is now in full lockdown, preventing people from attending public places if not work or health related, which has impacted land based gambling in the country.

All casinos, bingos and betting shops will be out of business until April 3, causing major losses which will undoubtedly impact full year financial performance.

The online gaming industry may benefit as a result, with players able to access gambling sites from their homes.
