Macau.- Global Gaming Expo Asia (G2E Asia) started its 12th edition yesterday at the Venetian Macao. The three-day event returned to Macau, a city that is widely renowned as one of the world’s fastest-growing gaming regions.
The first day of G2E kicked off with a record attendance of more than 15,000 international and local visitors. This year’s event has been confirmed as the largest when it comes to floor space, as the 37,000 square meters are a 30 per cent increase on 2017. The 12th edition also hosts more than 220 exhibitors that represent a 35 per cent growth over the first show held in 2007.
Chairman and chief executive officer of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, Mr Lawrence Ho, and director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau of Macau SAR Government, Mr Paulo Martins, delivered keynote addresses at the conference.
The inaugural G2E Asia Awards are also held at The Ballroom at MGM Cotai. The ceremony recognises excellence and innovation within Asian gaming while celebrating the success and outstanding contributions of not only gaming but also the non-gaming aspects of the entertainment industry in Asia.
