Fox Corporation eyes potential Tabcorp bid
The media company Fox Corporation is reportedly interested in making an offer for Tabcorp.
US.- Fox Corporation, the media outlet owned by the Murdoch family, is reportedly looking into buying an Australian gambling company after the success of its investments in the betting industry in the US.
The company has yet to make any official proposal, but The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Fox has approached Tabcorp, which has already received offers from Entain and from the US private equity firm Apollo.
It’s said that the corporation may partner with another party to make an offer. Bookmaker Matthew Tripp could be also involved in a potential bid.
Fox Corporation has already registered a trademark for its betting business FOXBet in Australia.
However, Tabcorp has not confirmed whehter it will accept any offer.
Fox Corp formed FOXBet in 2019, a joint venture alongside The Stars Group, owner of the world’s number one online poker site PokerStars. The Stars Group has since merged with Flutter Entertainment.
