Fontana casino shuts down
Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte made the decision to shut down the Pampanga casino.
Philippines.- The Angeles City Police Office along with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) temporarily shut down the Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino in Pampanga. The decision was made by the President Rodrigo Duterte based on the fact that the facility lacked permits.
According to Roland Dela Rosa, Chief Director General of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Duterte told them to arrest Fontana’s operator Jack Lam under the charges of economic sabotage and bribery. The casino was shut down because it didn’t have the proper permits, legal documents and immigration papers.
Vitaliano Aguirre II, Justice Secretary, said that Tam tried to bribe PAGCOR chair Andrea Domingo and Immigration officials with millions of dollars for them to release the illegal immigrants that were working in his facility.
