Flutter appoints Stefan Bomhard as non-executive director
Bomhard is the outgoing CEO of cigarette manufacturer Imperial Brands.
Ireland.- Flutter Entertainment has appointed Stefan Bomhard as a non-executive director. He will join the board on October 1, the same day that he steps down from as CEO of Imperial Brands, the maker of Lambert & Butler, Embassy, Regal and Woodbine cigarettes. Bomhard will continue to work with Imperial into early 2026.
Bomhard became CEO of Imperial Brands in 2020 after spending five years at the helm of automotive distribution company Inchcape.

John Bryant, chair of the Flutter board, said “Following an extensive search as part of our on-going Board renewal process, I am delighted to welcome Stefan as a non-executive director. Stefan has significant experience working in international environments, particularly in the operation, sales and marketing of well-known consumer brands. We look forward to Stefan joining the Board and contributing to Flutter’s future.”
It’s been noted that bringing in a non-executive director from the tobacco industry may signal an intention to take advantage of Bomhard’s experience in an area that faces strong public debate and regulation amid addiction concerns.
