Florida regulator seizes 60 illegal slot machines
The Florida Gaming Control Commission and Cape Coral Police Department seized 60 slot machines, cash and other gambling equipment.
US.- The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) and the Cape Coral Police Department have carried out an operation at Uptown Bingo, Cape Coral. Operation Going Downtown led to the seizure of 60 slot machines that operators had labelled as “bingo,” along with gambling paraphernalia and cash.
Commissioner Peter Cuderman said operators used the bingo label on slot machines to falsely claim that the games were legal: “Bingo is fun, and the FGCC supports lawful play. Unfortunately, criminals prey on Floridians by using a bingo theme on slot machines and falsely claiming these games are legal,” he said.
Cape Coral Police Chief Anthony Sizemore said: “Our partnership with the Florida Gaming Control Commission allows us to effectively investigate these operations and protect the residents of Cape Coral. We remain committed to enforcing the law and ensuring businesses operate legally and responsibly within our community.”
