FDJ to sponsor 100 amateur French football clubs
The operator’s ParionsSport sports betting brand will sponsor amateur clubs across the country.
France.- ParionsSport, Française des Jeux’s (FDJ) sports betting brand will provide kits and equipment to 100 amateur football clubs.
It says it will provide each team with a complete supply of equipment including 30 kits that can be personalised with team colours and logos.
It will also support the clubs throughout the next year by various dedicated activities and their information will be relayed on the ParionsSport channels.
A committee comprising FDJ representatives, ParionsSport ambassador, Smaïl Bouabdellah, who is a commentator for Qatari broadcaster BeIn Sports, professional football players, and social development foundation Fondaction du Football, chose the 100 clubs from 3,700 applications. They include men’s and women’s clubs, and at least five clubs from each of France’s administrative regions.
FDJ said: “Beyond FDJ’s commitments in professional sport, the group is continuing its roots in amateur football. With more than 28,000 points of sale throughout France, it is natural for ParionsSport to become a sponsor of amateur football clubs throughout France.”
FDJ is an official partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and has extended its sponsorship of two top-tier football clubs Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille.
Clubs in Spain and the UK, meanwhile, have continued to close sponsorship deals despite uncertainty over regulatory changes. In Denmark, sports teams can no longer display the logos of sponsors from the gambling sector alongside those of financial services companies.
