FanDuel to sponsor NBA’s Phoenix Suns
FanDuel will sponsor NBA team Phoenix Suns after sports betting was legalised in the state of Arizona.
US.- FanDuel has signed a sponsorship deal with NBA team Phoenix Suns, gaining access to take sports bets in Arizona in the process.
The deal comes after Arizona governor, Doug Ducey, signed a new law to legalise sports betting in the state.
The legislation gives sports teams the possibility to award state licences, making FanDuel’s partnership with the Suns simultaneously a sponsorship, sportsbook partnership a market access agreement.
For the Suns, the partnership is an opportunity to engage fans in an industry that was not previously available legally. That includes daily fantasy games, which were not allowed in Arizona until now.
Suns president and CEO Jason Rowley said: “We are well aware of the variety of areas where people spend their time, and their money, particularly in the entertainment world.
“This is opening an entire world of new possibilities for our fans, whether it’s inside the arena watching the game, whether it’s in the sportsbook once it’s built out, or whether it’s watching the game at home.”
