Entain and ARC launch Premier Greyhound Racing
The companies say their Premier Greyhound Racing joint venture will become “the global home for greyhound entertainment”.
UK.- The gaming operator Entain and the racetrack operator Arena Racing Company (ARC) have launched a joint venture that will provide greyhound racing to operators and other industry stakeholders.
The companies said Premier Greyhound Racing will be “the global home for greyhound entertainment”.
The agreement will see Entain increase the amount of content its brands take from Arena Racing Company tracks to between eight and ten fixtures each week. From January 1, 2024, Entain brands will exclusively use greyhound content from Premier Greyhound Racing.
Entain and ARC have promised a significant prize money investment, with at least £2.5m to be added to prize pools in 2022 along with investment in greyhound welfare research.
Richard Lang, director of commercial retail at Entain, said: “We are thrilled to be launching Premier Greyhound Racing with our partners Arena Racing Company. This new venture clearly demonstrates Entain’s commitment to the sport of greyhound racing and our desire to see it flourish in the years ahead for the benefit of our customers and fans everywhere.”
Kevin Robertson, managing director of Arena Racing Company’s media and international division, said: “We are delighted to work with Entain and take the next step forward in the establishment of Premier Greyhound Racing.
“Equally, in the shorter term, we are really pleased to have come together to make these significant investments into our open race programme over the year, as well as contributing to the ongoing research into greyhound welfare.”
In April, ARC reached an agreement to buy Newcastle’s Central Park stadium from Cearnsport Limited.
