December 2019 is Encore Boston’s best month to date
Encore Boston Harbor has achieved US$54 million in revenue in December, its highest figure to date.
US.- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) has published the financial results for December operations. The report indicates that Encore Boston Harbor achieved US$54 million in gambling revenue in December and became the best month ever for the casino since it opened last June.
While Encore Boston Harbor registered its best month to date, the other casinos in Massachusetts, MGM Springfield and the Plainridge Park slots facility reported their lowest monthly revenues ever.
However, even though the Boston facility topped 2019 with an impressive figure, it is still off pace for the US$800 million goal that its owner had set for its first year of operations. In the first six months, the facility has taken approximately US$313 million.
The facility recently changed table games minimums
Encore Boston recently dropped its table game minimums from US$50 to US$15. The casino said that it aims to be a hometown casino, not one that looks like a casino from Las Vegas.
Brian Gullbrants, Encore president, told the Massachusetts Gaming Commission that the facility intends to roll out a tired card system to offer rewards.
“The last thing we want to do is be a Vegas casino in Boston. We want to be a Boston casino in Boston,” Gullbrants said. “We want to be Greater Boston’s hometown casino. And we want everyone to come and feel welcome and like they can have a great time there, whether they are playing or not playing.”
