Poland’s football league launches tender
The top professional league has launched a tender to offer sportsbooks the opportunity to get live broadcasting rights.
Poland.- Ekstraklasa, the top Polish professional league for men’s association football teams, has officially launched a tender to offer sportsbook operators the opportunity to purchase live broadcasting rights for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.
The league said that the initial tender sale will focus on domestic rights, while a tender for international broadcast rights, currently held by IMG agency, will be launched at the end of the current season. The sale is set to be conducted by The Ekstraklasa along with NC Plus, the Polish national pay-television broadcaster, the entity that has been in charge of the league’s rights since 1995.
The football league will also launch a tender for betting partners in order to give them the chance to have their brands on TV coverage and digital assets. Licensed bookmakers in the country will have time to submit their bids throughout this month and April, as the decision is expected to be reached by April 30.
Ekstraklasa President Marcin Animucki said: “After the initial investigation of this market, there is significant interest in our rights from bookmakers. This is not surprising, because showing Ekstraklasa games is a great way for them to promote, build an advantage on the market and develop business in our country. We want to strengthen our cooperation with the bookmaking industry because it creates opportunities for mutual development.”
