EGBA launches new website for European Safer Gambling Week 2025
This year’s campaign will run from November 17 to 23.
Belgium.- The EGBA has launched a new European Safer Gambling Week website in time for this year’s campaign, which will run from November 17 to 23. Available at www.safergambling.eu, the new website serves as a central hub, with information about the initiative and resources for both players and industry stakeholders.
The site features dedicated sections designed to support player protection and encourage participation in the initiative. A help page lists helplines and support services across European countries, including contact information for national helplines and self-exclusion systems. Players can find confidential support in their local language.
The site also presents this year’s agenda of conferences, workshops, and webinars taking place throughout European Safer Gambling Week (ESGW), covering key topics in player protection. Stakeholders can register for events and view the full programme.
There’s also guidance for players, including warning signs to watch for, practical tips to stay in control, and the core safer gambling messages that form the foundation of this year’s initiative.
ESGW25 marks the firth year of the annual campaign. The EGBA says that last year’s edition brought together 195 organisations from 26 countries, reaching 3.1 million people.
Operators, regulators, support organisations, trade associations, technology providers, and other sector stakeholders are invited to participate. Campaign graphics are available in 27 languages and can be requested through the website.
New influencer marketing standards
The campaign comes after the EGBA recently launched a set of standards for responsible influencer marketing in gambling. The Pledge on Responsible Influencer Marketing in Online Gambling was developed with the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) as the first industry-wide set of influencer marketing standards for the sector in Europe.
The association says the move is intended to address the fast-paced evolution of online marketing, which has seen a growing use of influencers in the gambling industry. It builds on the EGBA’s existing Code of Conduct on responsible advertising for online gambling, adding additional standards for all forms of influencer marketing content, including live streams, stories, posts, videos, and any digital content formats.
