US.- Dumfries Town Council has approved rezoning and a conditional use permit for Colonial Downs’ Rose casino in a 6-1 vote. The approval comes after the Dumfries Planning Commission approved Colonial Downs’ request to build a gaming property in the city.
The Rose is expected to generate nearly $11m in annual local tax revenue for Dumfries and about $8m for Prince William County, while creating more than 600 jobs with an average annual salary of $46,000.
