DraftKings partners with WWE
DraftKings is now the official gaming partner of WWE. It will offer free-to-play pools at the WWE’s annual WrestleMania event in April.
US.- Sports betting operator DraftKings has signed a deal with wresting entertainment promoter WWE, becoming its official gaming partner.
The partnership centres around DraftKings free-to-play pools product. The first product offering will take place at the WWE’s annual WrestleMania event, which is set to take place over the weekend of April 10-11 in Florida.
DraftKings, which recently appointed Jennifer Aguiar as its new chief compliance officer, will also receive an exclusive licence to WWE media assets and in-game branding on pay-per-view events.
Chief business officer at DraftKings, Ezra Kucharz, said: “As a cultural icon and incredible sports and entertainment company, we are thrilled to join forces with WWE and introduce its devoted fanbase to the DraftKings brand.
“This relationship helps fuel the engagement and drama of WWE’s signature matchups and storylines as audiences enjoy the second-screen experiences our products provide.”
WWE chief brand officer, Stephanie McMahon, added: “We’re excited to enter this new agreement that makes DraftKings WWE’s first-ever free to play gaming partner.
“This collaboration marks a significant step in deepening engagement with our passionate fans and will provide DraftKings the opportunity to leverage the massive appeal and reach of the WWE brand.”
Meanwhile, DrafKings is selling $1.15bn of convertible notes due in 2028 through a private offering made to qualified institutional investors.
