Detroit casinos report $108.19m in November aggregate revenue
The Michigan Control Board has reported that November revenue for the three Detroit casinos was down 6.8 per cent month-on-month.
US.- The three Detroit casinos have reported $108.19m in monthly aggregate revenue for November, according to the Michigan Control Board. Table games and slots generated $103.8m in revenue, and retail sports betting $4.3m. The monthly figure for table games and slots was 6.8 per cent lower than October’s.
The market shares for November were: MGM, 46 per cent; MotorCity, 32 per cent; Greektown, 22 per cent.
Table games and slots revenue was up 116.1 per cent from November 2021 but lower than the $124.2m reported in November 2019. For each casino, the year-on-year rise was 136.1 per cent for MGM ($48.29m); 88.9 per cent for MotorCity ($33m); 122.6 per cent for Greektown ($22.5m).
In November, the three Detroit casinos paid $8.4m in gaming taxes to the State of Michigan, compared with $3.9m in November 2020. The casinos reported submitting $13m to the City of Detroit in wagering taxes and development agreement payments.
Sports betting also grew year-on-year. The casinos reported total gross receipts of $4.6m and a handle of $2.7m. Retail sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) were 85.2 higher than the same period last year and up 63.7 per cent from October 2021. Through the thirty days of November, aggregate retail sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts were: MGM, $8.16m; MotorCity, $8.83m; Greektown, $8.84m.
November QAGR by casino totalled: MGM, $1.03m; MotorCity, $1.47m; Greektown, $1.82m. Casinos paid the State of Michigan received $163,625 and the City of Detroit $199,986 in retail sports betting taxes.
