Details revealed on $1.2bn new casino resort for Biloxi
Universal Music Group has announced it intends to open the resort in 2023.
US.- Universal Music Group has released more details on its plans for a $1.2bn music-themed casino resort in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The project is a joint venture between Universal Music Group and Dakia U-Ventures. It will be the most expensive resort to be built in South Mississippi.
According to Robert Lavia, chairman of Dakia Global U-Ventures, construction of the property, which stretches 266 acres across US 90, will begin in 2021 and finish in 2023.
The resort will boast 1,150 hotel rooms, a 12,000 seat entertainment venue, an 18-hole golf course and spa.
According to Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich, the resort is expected to attract 2 million people a year to Biloxi.
It is estimated that it will create around 1,000 jobs in construction and 2,500 permanent jobs.
The resort will be operated under Universal’s UMUSIC brand. It will be the first of three resorts, with the two following resorts destined for Atlanta, Georgia, and Orlando, Florida.
