Delaware posts strong sports betting performance
Revenue from sports betting operations in the First State increased US$1.1 million in December.
US.- According to the latest financial figures for the state of Delaware, sports betting has recorded a successful month once again in December, as it increased on November’s revenue by US$1.1 million.
Sports betting’s net proceeds totalled US$2.2 million in December, which is US$1.1 million higher when compared to the US$1.1 million that was registered in November 2011. These numbers come even if there was a lower handle in December – US$16.1 million – compared to November’s US$16.4 million.
Delaware Park was once again the top scorer in the state, with revenue totalling US$1.5 million from a handle of US$10. million. Dover Downs posted US$411k in revenue from US$3.2 million in wagers, followed by Harrington Raceway’s US$267k from US$2.1 million handle.
Ever since sports betting was legalised in the United States on June 24, Delaware, which was one of the states that had online gaming legalised since 2011, has generated revenue of US$8.9 million.
