Delaware sports betting handle reaches $7.6m in September
September’s sports betting handle was the highest in eight months.
US.- Delaware’s sports betting handle was $7.6m in September, the highest total in eight months. The handle was up 216.7 per cent from August 2023 ($2.4m) but down 14.6 per cent year-on-year.
Revenue was $958,547, down 65.6 per cent from the same month in 2022 but up 208.9 per cent from August 2023. Delaware Park remained the market leader with $130,379 in revenue from a $1.9m handle. Bally’s Dover registered revenue of $71,880 from $1m in bets. The Harrington Raceway registered $30,707 in revenue and a $434,662 handle.
Igaming bets reached $39.3m, up 3.4 per cent from the same month in 2022 and 21.3 per cent from August 2023. Of the total, $22.3m was wagered on video lottery games and $17m on table games. Revenue amounted to $1.1m, down 15.4 per cent from September 2022 ( $1.3m) and level with August 2023. Video lottery games accounted for $856,402 and table games $219,505. An additional $33,043 came from poker rake and fees.
Delaware Park led the igaming market with revenue of $534,015 from $22.2m in bets. Bally’s Dover reported $356,861 in revenue and $10.3m worth of wagers. Harrington Raceway registered $218,074 from $6.8m.
